Mystery Solved!

One of my favorite Etsy sellers, Liana, solved my fabric mystery. The fabric was manufactured by Chris Stone, a contract and custom finishing mill in L.A. Unfortunately, the company seems to have gone under... which is going to make finding this fabric basically impossible.

Dream Kitchen

source unknown

So fresh and clean. Reminds me of Springtime.
I would use a little darker shade of robins egg on the walls, but otherwise it's perfect!

Wanted

This is one of the prints I'd like for my living room, but I need it in a bigger size pillow than the seller can make. And sadly, she doesn't know who makes the fabric or where to get it.

Help!

Have you seen this fabric?

Geometric Pillows

I never took myself for a crazy mad lover of geometric prints. But, as it turns out, I'm seriously obsessed... and having to do some major editing to my living room design board to make sure I don't end up with a geometric explosion! Here are some of my Etsy favorites:

Chevron Print Pillow in Pink | Modern Thread
Mod Lattice Pillow in Green | DIY Pillows

Thom Filicia for Kravet Pillow | Chic Decor Pillows

Zenyatta Mondata Pillow in Peacock | WoodyLiana
Link Pattern Pillow Case in Bright Yellow  | Milk & Cookies Canada

Atelier Eva Juliet

Ever come across something that is just so you
I really have no words for these prints from Atelier Eva Juliet. Maybe, perfection?

The one on the left especially speaks to me.

There is nothing in this shop I don't want.
One year of smiles.
If this isn't the sweetest thing ever, I beg you to tell me what is.

Much more here.

Project: Bench

I don't know what it is, but I have so many decorating project ideas swimming around in my head these days! I like it.  I just ordered a new little bench to re-upholster, and these are some of the fabrics I'm eyeing for the project. Beautiful, no? But so very different.

I love the color and Art Deco fan pattern.
The red floral reminds me of Chiang Mai Dragon.
The mocha floral is such a classic.
I'm crazy about wide stripes, especially in my favorite shade of blue.
Maybe a simple wheat linen with some fun pom pom trim?
The yellow stripes remind me of pretty wallpaper.

Choices, choices!
Do you have a favorite?

Feature: Drop Cloth Curtains from In the Tweeds

This beautiful, classic living room belongs to the talented Leila from In the Tweeds. Would you believe she made her curtains out of $20 Home Depot drop cloths? She says the process was so simple, there's no need for special DIY instructions--just wash, cut, iron, hem, and hang!

The panels are subtle and perfect for framing the beautiful bay window. And I love her choice of custom, wrap-around hardware. I think it makes all the difference.

My Living Room Inspiration

I've been neglecting my living room big time, and I'm set on completing it ASAP. I just ordered this pillow cover from Etsy and I am really excited about it. I've started building a mood board around this pretty print--curtains are ordered, plans are laid, and my bird prints are ready for a home!

Free Vintage Printables

I love vintage labels, especially if they're French. Have you been to The Graphics Fairy? It has literally thousand and thousands of just about any vintage images you can imagine, all FREE. Most are hi res and perfect for art projects and framing.

Upholstered Wall

 BHG

How great is this DIY upholstered wall? That is some seriously awesome tufting. I love the lounge look of the low seating and the recessed lighting. What a cool space!

Le Creuset Glitter Spatulas

I got these Le Creuset Silicone Spatulas for Christmas. Don't you think sparkly things would make cooking more fun? I'm going on that theory. And bonus, they'll add some prettiness to my utensil holder.

Grasscloth Wallpaper

When I first saw this room from Kate Spade's New York apartment (left), it was all I could think about for weeks.  I'm still crazy about it, especially the stormy blue grasscloth wallpaper. I love the soft texture and the sense of calm given by the long, horizontal lines. The image on the right (from this month's Lonny) reminded me so much of Kate Spade's room. The grasscloth is identical--I love that shade of blue.

The natural colors are beautiful, too:

This tutorial from Behr shows how to make a grasscloth finish using paint. Not quite the same, but from a distance you could get the same general look with really straight lines on a really smooth wall.
Or try yoga mats!

Lonny!

Oh, Lonny. Every page had something new to love. This issue featured lot of textured neutrals and feminine/French influences, two of my favorite things!

Short of posting the entire issue, here are just a few my very favorite spaces:

 Hillary Thomas
That is some seriously good pattern mixing!

Check out the whole January/February 2011 issue here.

Who knew? Kmart finds.

This weekend I happened to be perusing kmart.com looking for a bench to re-upholster, and I found some really fun, modern things as well as some pretty traditional pieces:

I'm not the only one loving some of kmart's stuff--check out the Linen Wood Accent Chair used by Caitlin Creer and the Antique White Storage Bench that looks beautiful in Courtney's home. I have also found that kmart is a good resource for down pillow inserts and plain drum shades. I never would have guessed!

Runner Patterns

One of the projects I am planning in the next month or so is to create a custom hallway runner from duck cloth. I have some less-than-beautiful flooring that I'd prefer not to see anymore. Here are some patterns I'm considering:

Let it be known: I want to use chevron everywhere.
